Four of us met for dinner at the high-ceilinged station pub with exposed bricks, arched windows, stripped floors and railway clock that is The Phoenix Pub & Restaurant, Denmark Hill, London and each had a tasty meal. The menu is varied but when we arrived we were told the roast and burgers were finished. (It was only 6pm) This was disappointing.
However, we enjoyed the meals we had. The place is clean and the service friendly without being intrusive. Prices are very reasonable. The four of us ate one course each for just over £40.00 exclusive of drinks.
We would definitely consider going here again and get another helping of freshly cooked food, speciality beers and a good serving of offbeat charm from The Phoenix in Denmark Hill.
