I had lunch today with friends at the Brisbane House Hotel in Largs. The Bar and Restaurant area is known as Henry’s. The lunch menu is quite varied and extremely good value.
Starters include fish meat and vegetarian choices. The soup is home made and served with a crusty roll. For the main courses there are a selection of traditional dishes, some more continental offerings like curry or noodles as well as some vegetarian choices.
All the meals are beautifully executed and presented. Occasionally, however, as in the vegetarian curry, the taste did not live up to the presentation.
The selection of puddings is fairly traditional, but very tasty.
The service was friendly. We were not kept waiting unnecessarily, but neither were we rushed. The cost of the meals was very reasonable, being £8-99 for two courses and pudding only an additional £1.
I have no doubt I will use this restaurant again.
